Welcome to EGO Lounge (“we,” “us,” “our”). By using our services, including our website, Twitch Extension, and Discord bot (collectively, the “Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service.
1. Your Account To use the Service, you must authenticate using a third-party service like Twitch or Discord. You are responsible for connecting your game accounts (e.g., Riot, Valve, Epic Games). You agree to provide accurate information.
2. Competitions and Seasons
- Hosts: Our Service allows “Hosts” (e.g., Twitch Streamers, Discord Admins) to create and manage “Seasons” and “Competitions.”
- Rewards: Hosts are solely responsible for defining and distributing any prizes or rewards for their Seasons. We do not guarantee, and are not responsible for, any Host-promised rewards.
- Entry Fees: Some Competitions may require an entry fee using Twitch Bits. All payments are processed by Twitch, and you are subject to Twitch’s terms of service for all transactions. We do not handle or refund these payments.
3. Scoring and Ranking You acknowledge and agree to the following:
- Data is Final: All Competition scores are determined automatically by our system based on data retrieved directly from official game APIs. This data is the final and only source of truth.
- No Disputes: We will not manually review or alter any scores, even if you believe there is an error.
- Dynamic Formulas: Our scoring formulas are dynamic and will change over time as we balance the game.
- Anti-Smurf Policy: We reserve the right to automatically penalize scores from game accounts that our system identifies as “smurf” accounts (e.g., accounts with low in-game levels or low lifetime playtime).
- Season Ranking: Your Season rank is calculated using the OpenSkill ranking system, which measures your performance relative to other players in each Competition.
4. Public Leaderboards By participating, you grant us the right to display your username and game performance (scores, rank, etc.) on public leaderboards on our Service.
5. Termination We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, without notice, for any reason, including but not limited to cheating, exploiting the system, or violating these Terms.
6. Changes to These Terms We may update these Terms at any time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the new Terms on our website. Your continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
7. Governing Law These Terms shall be governed by the laws of Michigan, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
